This wonder vegetable, or fruit, some people say, is the the product of a rogue tomato plant that grew in the pot containing the struggling bougainvillea on the terrace. There were many this year as we throw all the washing up water onto the pots and the garden. (see post-materialism blog — if you wish to postpone the household chores/going to work longer)).
So many grew in the boug's pot that it has sadly not produced a single flower this year, possibly in a sullen protest. Anyway the tomato and it's mates was and are delicious, and are far more vivacious than any I planted on purpose.
